Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a collaborative and confidential process where clients work with a trained professional to explore emotional, relational, or behavioural concerns. Through conversation and evidence-based approaches, psychotherapy supports insight, coping, and meaningful personal change.

I am a Registered Social Worker and Certified Career Development Practitioner specializing in supporting individuals who feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or anxious about their academic or career direction. Many of the clients I work with are navigating major transitions choosing a university or college program, adjusting to post-secondary expectations, planning their first career steps, or reevaluating their path after experiencing workplace burnout or dissatisfaction. My practice integrates career counselling with mental health support, offering a unique space for clients who are struggling to balance emotional well-being.

In our work, I integrate Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches that help you manage anxiety, challenge unhelpful thoughts, build coping skills, and take meaningful steps toward your goals. Together, we explore your strengths, values, interests, and lived experiences to help you navigate your path forward.

It’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed, unsure, or pressured during moments of change. You don’t have to navigate these decisions alone. Whether you are choosing a program, adjusting to university or college life, dealing with burnout at work, or feeling anxious about your next step, you deserve a space where your experiences are understood.

Thank you for reading. Wherever you are in your life right now, I want you to know that you are not alone. You may have found yourself thinking “things just can’t go on like this” or maybe “I need help.” Thank you for taking this courageous first step in investing in yourself. Unfortunately, stigma surrounding going to therapy still exists, meaning many won’t get the care that might change their life. I’m glad you are here to get one step closer to your goals.

Choosing a therapist is not easy, so I will tell you a bit about my approach so you can see if we’d make a good fit. Since therapy is not a one-size-fits-all, I choose to draw from a range of modalities to tailor my approach to find what works best for each of my clients. Some specific modalities I draw from are mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I work with individuals, couples, and families. I am client-centered and prioritize transparency, authenticity, and trust in my practice. My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed and culturally-sensitive.

Life is full of challenges, and some challenges are easier to talk about than others. I hope you find the space we cultivate a safe place where you feel the freedom to share the challenges that feel impossible to talk about. Here you will find support, honesty, empathy, and no judgement. If you are ready for the first step toward growth and healing, I am ready to support you along the way!

I’ve always been drawn to psychology. When I was studying Cognitive Science for my bachelor’s, I really started to connect with the idea of using data-driven, evidence-based research to understand human behavior. The human mind and the way we think is such a complex puzzle, and I find it fascinating to explore why we do what we do and think the way we think. Even though therapy is an art in many ways, there is a scientific basis to how we approach things—and I’m always focused on finding better answers so I can provide better care.

My journey into therapy started with a question: how can I best serve the world and make it a better place? I love the quote by Paul Shane Spear,

As one person I cannot change the world, but I can change the world of one person.

It really resonates with me because that’s what I hope to do through my work. My passion is about helping people, lifting them up, and doing anything I can to make the world a little better—one person at a time.

At one point in my life, I was in a pretty dark place. I know what it feels like to be stuck in the kind of place where you don’t know how to keep going. But I’m here now, and I’m living proof that it’s possible to make it out. That experience is why I do what I do—I want others to know that no matter how deep it feels, there’s always a way through. My mission is to help people realize that whatever they’re going through, they can make it to the other side and feel whole again.

The way I work is a blend of science and empathy. I have a strong foundation in evidence-based practices, but I also know that each person is unique, and therapy is deeply personal. I’m here to work alongside you, to listen without judgment, and to create a safe space where you can heal and grow at your own pace.

I’m not just a therapist—I’m a human who cares, and I truly believe in the power of the work we do together.
